On Saturday and Wednesday morning gates on Grieve Street near Grafton Road will be open for free drop-offs.
Warrnambool City Council waste management and minimisation officer Kate McInnes said the idea came from the gardens committee.
“Hopefully it will prevent old Christmas trees from being dumped where they shouldn’t,” she said.
“However, we must remind people that no other types of green waste will be accepted in the free drop-off service.”
