The Warrnambool And District Drag Racing Association’s (WADDRA) ‘Show Us Your Toys’ day, a fund-raiser for Peter’s Project, had 130 cars, motorbikes and billy carts on display.
WADDRA president Tony Frost hailed the event a success and said the weather made it an ideal day.
“It was terrific. This is only the third year we have had the event so it’s still in it’s infancy but it was the biggest one yet,” he said.
The show had a variety of vehicles on display from street cars to drag racers as well as bikes.
“Mr Frost said about 1500 people came through the gates.
“We roughly guessed that we raised about $1100 for Peter’s Project,” he said.
“It was perfect weather. The sun came out and it turned out to be a perfect day.
“We had lots of visitors and tourists come along.”
WADDRA is now looking forward to next year and expanding the show, which gives anyone the chance to show off their vehicles.
“We will make it bigger and better again next year,” Mr Frost said.
“We don’t just do drag racing, it’s something for the community and we do it to raise awareness of the club,” he said.
