The third and final round of ticket sales will open on January 8, with most passes sold in the first two releases over the past months. Children under 12 can gain free entry to the March 8-11 festival and there is also a special youth ticket price.
The sales update was released just as two artists from the stellar line-up were recognised with critical acclaim. Melbourne roots outfit Cactus Channel took out a PBS listeners’ choice award, while Glen Hansard received a second Academy Award nomination.
Irish singer-songwriter Hansard’s song The Gift appears in the Disney film The Odd Life of Timothy Green, starring Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton.
