At 7am, while the four and two-year-old Warrnambool sisters were opening their presents from Santa, their mother Nicole was making a delivery of her own, with little Jacob Leslie making his arrival not long after.
To add to the celebration, Christmas Eve was Gemma’s second birthday.
Mrs Dance said Jacob wasn’t due until January 6, but she wasn’t surprised he arrived two weeks early.
“Both the girls were two weeks early,” she told The Standard.
“Gemma was actually due on January 6 as well, so it was all a bit of a coincidence.
“We got through Gemma’s birthday party yesterday, and then this morning (yesterday) as the girls were opening their presents, my waters broke.
“So we quickly finished up and went up to the hospital.”
Mrs Dance’s husband Ashley said to add to the coincidence of the day, another member of the family was born on the other side of the country.
“My sister had a baby boy in Kalgoorlie,” he said.
“So we have two babies born in the family a day apart, and then Gemma, who is two years older.”
As for four-year-old Chloe, there was no denying how she felt about her new baby brother.
“He’s my best Christmas present ever,” she said,
