The Sam Brooks-coached side won the under 17 junior boys’ division two title at Knox on Friday.
Brauer College defeated Luther College 45-38 in the grand final, having earlier proved too strong for Hallam Senior College 61-46 in the semi-final.
The championships were open to schools from across Australia.
Brooks, 17, said his 11-player squad played 10 games and won eight of them on its way to the crown.
“It was really good coming back from where we were at the start at 1-2,” he said. “In the fourth game we had one of our best players, Jeremy Bolden, go down with an ankle injury and everyone stepped up and played well.
“We lifted our intensity from the start of the tournament.
“Jeremy rested and came back for the finals.”
Brooks rated point guard Nick Young, shooting guard Riley Harris, power forwards Liam Killey and Bolden as Brauer’s best contributors.
“Everyone played well,” he said.
“We were big and that helped us a lot and I thought we played really good defence when we wanted to.
“They were the two things that helped us the most.”
