The route for the 2013 ride, announced this morning, will start at Mount Gambier on Saturday November 23 and end in Geelong on Sunday December 1.
Overnight camping stops are planned for Nelson, Portland, Port Fairy, Port Campbell (two nights), Gellibrand, Birregurra and Torquay.
The event last travelled along the Great Ocean Road in 2009 and all tickets were sold within six weeks.
Five thousand riders will boost the south-west economy when the Great Victorian Bike Ride passes through next year.
