All was in vain. “Planning Minister Matthew Guy has approved the rezoning of 10 large coastal sites along the Great Ocean Road that will be targeted for high-end resorts and hotels.” (Anger over Great Ocean Road rezonings, The Age, November 13).
This is just another one of many decisions where Mr Guy has once again ridden roughshod over his appointed planning panel’s recommendations. It seems that the only hope for the people to be heard is the ballot box.
The impacts on this nationally-significant coastline will serve as a lasting reminder of Mr Guy’s arrogant, idiosyncratic approach to decision making.
