OCCUPANTS of a Nirranda house destroyed by fire on Tuesday afternoon lost everything but the clothes they were wearing.
The residents were away working when the dwelling was gutted, a CFA media spokeswoman said.
The fire is believed to have started in a car in a garage and spread to the house on Dances Road.
Units from five CFA brigades attended about 5pm to find the flames had already engulfed the vinyl-clad weatherboard house.
The blaze was controlled within an hour.
