Most of the time these three are known as Tony, Brad and Ryan Arscott.
But when the trio hit Warrnambool Field and Game's shooting range at Woolsthorpe, they answer to Nails, Bones and Rusty.
All of the branch's members are given a nickname - just one aspect of the camaraderie which the Arscott family love about the club.
While father Tony has an extensive shooting career - highlighted by him being a field hunter for 36 years - his sons are relative newcomers to the all-year round sport.
While Ryan, 12, started in March, 13-year-old Brad began in September 2008, with the duo following in their father's footsteps.
Anyone curious about the sport is encouraged to attend Warrnambool Field and Game's clay target shooting open day on Sunday.
"There's not too many sports where you can participate with your kids," Arscott, 48, said.
"We would probably spend three out of four weekends together either shooting targets or fishing or camping.
"There's a lot of fathers and sons out there who do it but there's also lots of mothers and daughters."
Arscott highlighted how helpful members of the club were, with the juniors always looked after by more experienced shooters, who often pass on advice.
Brad said he enjoyed the sport simply because it was fun.
"And you get to meet a lot of people too," he said.
The trio are off to the Field and Game National Carnival in Kingston in October.
They are part of a group of 29 from the Warrnambool branch who are attending the event.
Sunday's come and try day is from 10.45am at "The Wickham", Wickham Road, Woolsthorpe.
Warrnambool Field and Game president Geoff Morris said anyone over the age of 12 could have a go, with children needing permission from a parent or guardian to participate.
All equipment is supplied free.
