EIGHT Warrnambool and District Indoor Bias Bowls Association (WDIBBA) members are vying for a spot in the Victorian team.
Shane Cashill, George Draffen, John Hovard, Rodney Wilson, Maureen Drennan, Margaret Firth, Jan Norton and Gill Phillips impressed state selectors at the inter-group championships in Ballarat on the long weekend.
Their performances earned them a spot at the trials for the Victorian team this weekend.
Successful bowlers will represent the state at the national championships which are in Shepparton later this year.
The association held its men's and women's triples championship on Saturday, with only one combination able to endure the event undefeated.
The female trio of Lorraine Dumesny (skip), Lois Blain (third) and Yvonne Lenehan (lead) managed to rack up three wins, with 24 shots up.
The next best team was Drennan (skip), Maureen Bond (third) and Jacinta Marney (lead), which recorded two victories.
The men's championship was evenly contested as three combinations finished with two wins and a loss.
Max Dalton (skip), Frank Harney (third) and Jack Bates (lead) were able to finish 16 shots up, edging out Draffen (skip), Rex Harris (third) and Noel Schiltz (lead) by five shots.
Phillips, Draffen and Wilson contested the state singles championship in Melbourne on Sunday.
While the former two were eliminated in the third round, Wilson progressed to the semi-final, which he lost.
