PRESSURE will be on young Timboon Demons goaler Laurie Symons tomorrow to match her near-perfect performance under the net last weekend.
In the Demons three-goal win over Russells Creek, Symons shot at 100 percent accuracy for three quarters.
Coach Leanne Whitehead said the junior netballer was making her mark in the senior competition.
"The last few games she has really stepped up as a real A grade goal attack," she said.
"She is very strong and very determined."
Symons is likely to line up against Power playing-coach Sarah Madden tomorrow afternoon.
Both teams are sitting outside the top-five but the Demons could be in the running for a spot in finals if they win the closing two rounds of the Warrnambool and District league season.
Kolora-Noorat bowed out of the race after a loss against Allansford two weekends ago.
Whitehead recognised the weight of the match.
"If we want to make finals it's very important (but) we're
just going to play like it is any other game," she said.
"I'm quite aware of (the ladder) and the girls are quite aware of it but it's not something we're focusing on."
Instead, Whitehead said the Demons were concentrating on game-day preparation.
"Everybody knows what they need to do and everybody is working as a team.
"It's about getting the basics right and being confident in what we can do."
When the two teams met in round one the Demons demolished the Power by 15 goals.
"We haven't seen them since so it's a bit unknown," Whitehead said.
"I know they're playing really good netball and I imagine they're gelling really well.
"I expect a very high standard of netball."
With three teams still in contention for finals, Whitehead said the fight for fifth spot would not be decided until round 18.
"Whatever one does affects the other," said.
"It's great for the league, it's exciting (and) it's getting the best out of teams.
"That's how the competition should be."
