Cobden took home the under 14 netball title in a physical win over a tall Terang Mortlake side yesterday.
Elated under 14s Cobden coach Norm Frusher was overcome by emotion and said the 27-19 grand final win was "very exciting".
"The girls just played so well and have all season," he said.
"We'd been winning fairly easily this year but we had to tackle Terang differently today.
"It was a really good close game."
Frusher said the girls had finally gelled this year after three seasons together.
Cobden got off to a good start, finishing the first quarter two goals up.
Blowing the lead out to seven at the end of the second quarter, the Bloods brought the score back within three goals heading into the final quarter.
Tight until the end, accurate shooting saw Cobden extend its unbeaten run in the dying minutes of the game.
Goal attack Alicia Blain top scored in the league all season and finished with an impressive goal with just minutes left on the clock.
Frusher said goal-shooter Tess Blake was moved into defense to cover the Bloods talls.
"Tess played a great game in defence and hasn't really played there all year," he said.
"But we had to make changes."
Clean passes flowed for the Bombers as the Bloods shooting struggled in the final quarter.
Terang Mortlake under 14 coach Josie Logan said the win "wasn't meant to be".
"It was a very physical game which got to the girls in the end," she said.
"They played a really good strong game of netball but it was very tight."
