COBDEN netballers have an added incentive to win this year after club president Wayne Gibson revealed all A grade players would be paid after each match.
The move is thought to be the first time a Hampden Football Netball League club has offered cash to every top grade player.
Gibson said the initiative narrowed the gap between football and netball. "It is just something I had in mind to recognise that the netballers were as important to the club as the footballers and to provide an incentive for them to become as committed as they can to their netball and the club," he said.
"I felt the club needed to show commitment to all teams and all players, not just the football."
While Gibson would not disclose the exact amount, he said every win would earn each player a generous contribution.
Losses will also be recognised by a small payment.
Gibson said the post-match payment would only be awarded to players who took the court.
He said he hoped the gesture would encourage more club members to attend functions and fund-raisers.
"It works two ways," he explained.
"If you want the same commitment to the club from the netballers as the footballers, you have to treat them the same."
The new Bombers president voiced his idea earlier this year and was met with mixed feedback.
After communication with players and netball co-ordinator Amy Stringer, Gibson took his plan to the board.
"This went to the board and was approved by the board," he said.
"We all want the club to be as professional as possible."
Gibson said it was a progression of former one-off player incentives.
"It's not a lot of money but I would hope players were playing for Cobden because they love the club . . . they need that initial desire to play for an amateur club," he said.
