HE's just crossed the border to snatch the South Australian Formula 500 title, now Jack Lee will cross the Bass Strait.
The Terang teenager is looking to make it two interstate titles in a row when he makes his Tasmanian debut at Latrobe Speedway in March.
A trip to Alice Sprints in April could also be on his agenda as he is thinking about contesting the Australian Formula 500 title.
"You get to travel a little bit but it does take it out of you," Jack said.
The 17-year-old was yesterday fully recovered from a big weekend which saw him take out the South Australian Formula 500 title at Bordertown.
Jack, who had raced junior sedans for six years, switched to Formula 500s midway through last season.
A 50-lap feature win at Laang soon followed ? a victory he rates as a career highlight alongside Saturday night's success.
"It was good to get the win because my form hadn't been that good," he said.
"This was my first win for the season.
"Before this I had a few podium finishes and finished fifth in the Oval Express Series."
Jack triumphed in his first heat, recorded a second in his third and came from the back to win his last.
It earned him pole position in the final.
Cobden's Jess Moulden finished second followed by Liam Williams. Jack will contest round two of the Victorian Stampede Series at Darlington on February 13.
He hoped his South Australian success was the start of some momentum.
