WARRNAMBOOL and District bowled over its neighbourly competition yesterday in the 28th Inter-Association Shield Day.
The host side finished with 416 shots, in front of Far Western (342) and Camperdown (235).
Warrnambool and District Ladies Bowling Association match committee chairwoman Pat Boyd said 120 women took to the Timor Street greens.
She said the home side's teamwork secured the Joan Anderson and Anne Shugg Shield.
"We combined very well as a 30," Boyd said. "Everybody played well. It was a real team effort."
Each association was represented by 10 teams of four, which battled for green honours over two rounds.
Camperdown was looking to retain its shield from last year, although Boyd had other ideas.
The Warrnambool and District skipper was queen of the green after finishing 27 shots ahead.
Boyd's dominant rink toppled Far Western's Marion Kinnard first by 14 shots, then trounced Camperdown's Marg Whitson by 13 shots soon after.
"The competition was very good," Boyd said. "We've won a fair few shields, and it was good to get it back."
Far Western's top rink was skippered by June Donehue, while Camperdown's best performer was Jill Rantall.
Boyd said Bowling Victoria official Anne Wright was a guest official at the event, as the chief representative for the three regions.
Despite its success , the day marked the final roll for the long running inter-association shield.
Boyd is hopeful a similar event will be organised in the future.
