MARC Leishman's 2010 US PGA Tour campaign got off to a satisfying start yesterday after he shot a one-under-par 69 in the opening round of the Sony Open.
The $5.5 million event at Waialae Country Club in Honolulu marks the Warrnambool golfer's first event on this year's lucrative circuit.
Leishman was four shots off the lead.
The Warrnambool golfer, 26, teed off from the front nine, getting off to a promising start with a birdie on the first hole.
A birdie on the 8th was followed by bogeys on the 10th and 15th, which saw him even.
He carded two birdies on the 16th and 18th while he recorded an undesired bogey on the 17th.
