KOROIT has double the drive to back up last season's Hampden league premiership.
Playing coach Joe McLaren last night announced two Saints would co-captain the side this year.
Half-backman Todd McLean and on-baller Isaac Templeton have taken over the top job from Karl Dwyer.
McLaren said the Koroit coaching panel could not separate the leadership qualities of the joint captains.
"You just can't split them," he said.
"One doesn't deserve it more than the other, it was a pretty unanimous decision."
McLean is heading into his third season with the Saints after making the move from Merrivale.
Templeton has called Victoria Park home for three years since leaving Old Collegians.
McLaren said the pair were popular players at Koroit.
"They are both held very highly at the club," he said.
"They are both premiership players and have won club best and fairests.
Young Saint Ben Dobson was handed the vice-captain role.
McLaren said the 19-year-old would bring a youthful spark to the leadership group.
"He is a Saint born and bred," he said.
"He has come up through the ranks and really stood up in the seniors last year."
The Saints have also welcomed three star recruits.
Tim Martin, from North Warrnambool, Chris Chambers (Nirranda) and Justin Emms (Old Collegians) will all boost Koroit's campaign to keep its winning flag for the second year in a row.
McLaren said Koroit played a practice match against Portland last weekend and was lining up against Grovedale tomorrow.
"The boys have been training really well,"
"The practice matches are a good opportunity to play the young blokes and see what's working."
Koroit travels to North Warrnambool in the opening round round of the Hampden season.
