Timboon Demons key playmaker Sam Hickey will face the Warrnambool and District Football Netball League tribunal tomorrow night after a five-week investigation.
Hickey has been brought before the independent tribunal after being charged with unbecoming conduct in that he recklessly, intentionally or negligently struck East Warrnambool teenager Ben Konigson in the final quarter of the round 14 match at Reid Oval on July 10.
East Warrnambool had called for an investigation into an alleged incident because Konigson, a promising midfielder, suffered a broken jaw in two places.
At the time, East Warrnambool coach Matthew Scoble was furious.
"We've got to look after our young players," he told The Standard after the match.
"We'll be trying to get every pound of flesh we can and we're now trying to get evidence together."
League president Justin Balmer said Victorian Country Football League investigations officer Sean Halley had recommended Hickey may have a case to answer after he completed a probe into the alleged incident.
He said a list of 15 witnesses had been submitted for tomorrow night's hearing, which is expected to take several hours.
The hearing, to be held at the league's Friendly Societies' Park headquarters, is scheduled to start at 6.30pm.
