THE Hampden league has released a revised draw for its pre-season football competition next month after the addition of a further two teams.
South Colac and Panmure have joined the one-day program, which will be played at Port Fairy’s Gardens Oval on Saturday, March 17.
The event features 10 matches of two 20-minute halves with a five-minute break at the change of ends.
Points are awarded for each individual half won. Teams are allowed an unlimited number of players on the bench, providing they are registered with the competing club.
Some new rules have been introduced, including a play-on call if the ball is kicked backwards. Boundary umpires will also throw the ball back into play from 10 metres inside the boundary.
Warrnambool and Koroit will kick off proceedings on the day, followed by 2011 Hampden league premier South Warrnambool and Terang Mortlake. Port Fairy then takes on Panmure, before South Colac confronts North Warrnambool Eagles and Camperdown tackles Cobden. Koroit then plays Terang Mortlake and Port Fairy faces South Warrnambool.
North meets Warrnambool, Camperdown challenges Panmure and Cobden takes on South Colac.
The top two sides of the minor rounds will play in the grand final. A $4000 cheque goes to the winner, while the runner-up claims $1000.
