TERANG Mortlake and Warrnambool are hoping they will have full lists to choose from for Saturday's preliminary final despite injury clouds over key players.
The Bloods have their fingers crossed midfielder Mitch Couch can overcome a corked hip to play while the Blues are sweating on the fitness of midfielder Brad Bull.
Warrnambool coach Adam Dowie yesterday said Bull complained of a tightening hamstring mid-way through the third quarter of Saturday's second semi-final loss to South Warrnambool at Gardens Oval, Port Fairy.
Dowie said the Blues opted not to risk Bull in the heavy conditions to ensure he was right to play on Saturday in the cut-throat match.
He tipped there would be some added intensity on the track tonight (Tuesday) and again Thursday.
"Ninety per cent of the year has been good," he said.
"We deserve to be where we are but it would leave a pretty hollow feeling inside if we go bang, bang and go out in straight sets.
"A lot of people are writing us off and have written us off. That is OK. It is up to the players to really bounce back anbd come out and be a lot more competitive.
"South Warrnambool outplayed us in just about every facet of the game, that is the worrying thing."
Terang Mortlake coach Damian O'Connor said Couch consulted a physiotherapist yesterday and that he was hoping he would overcome the injury in time to play a leading role on Saturday.
"I reckon he's been our best player the last five weeks," he said of Couch.
He said the Bloods would know more about his chances of playing after a light training session tonight
