WARRNAMBOOL and District Cricket Association (WDCA) has ensured there is space in this season's draw for a reserve day for the grand final.
The association held its annual general meeting on Tuesday night along with a rules committee meeting.
WDCA president Robert Haberfield said the 2010-11 grand final has been scheduled on March 19 and 20 next year.
"And March 26 is a spare day," he said.
"We've included a couple of Sunday games which will give us room in the draw to have that day.
"The spare day will only be used to recover lost time though, it's not a full day's play."
Last season the grand final weekend was washed out but there was no room for a reserve day, meaning the side which finished in the highest position on the ladder after the home-and-away rounds claimed the premiership.
While runner-up sides voiced their frustration, clubs knew before the season that there would be no spare day.
Haberfield said that clubs were given a proposed 2010-11 draw this week, with the season expected to open on the first weekend of October in divisions one, two and three.
Division four's round one is pencilled in for October 17.
"We've said to the clubs to have a look to see if there's any problems with the draw and then to get back to us," Haberfield said.
"We're probably expecting to finalise it within the next 10 days or so."
The association is almost certain to host a Twenty20 match on January 8 between Geelong and Camberwell, which is part of Premier Cricket country round.
"We're 95 per cent sure it's going to go ahead," Haberfield said.
"We expect to see one or two players with state experience come along.
"That will be played on a Saturday at a venue yet to be decided.
"(WDCA games) will be played on the Sunday."
The president said there were no major rule changes on Tuesday night.
"There was just some tidying up that needed to be done," he said.
"As we expected, there were no new board members presented from the clubs.
"There's three vacancies.
"We're looking for some qualified and interested candidates."
