PORT Fairy is already mapping its next voyage to victory after snaring its first Warrnambool and District Cricket Association (WDCA) division one win of the season.
The Pirates’ treasure chest has sat empty since rejoining the top competition late last year.
But that all changed after the round nine battle against Russells Creek, which wrapped up on Saturday.

“Everyone is pretty stoked,” captain Andrew McCartney said.
“Everything just worked for us.
“We bowled well and we batted reasonably well.
“It’s a shame it took this long because we believe we’ve been competitive all season.
“But it was really important to get that win. It gives us the confidence to know that we can.”
Port blasted Creek off Avery’s Paddock for 112 last weekend before sailing to 1-74 at stumps.
The Pirates resumed the chase on Saturday and hit an early snag when Xavier McCartney was dismissed for 50 in the first over.
But Aaron Williams (87) and McCartney (44) pushed ahead before Port declared at 228.
“Xavier really set it up for us,” McCartney said.
“Russells Creek bowled really well for 20 overs and didn’t give us much.
“(After declaring) we wanted to get as many wickets as we could to get bonus points.”
Creek’s Nathan Divall grabbed 4-54 and Matthew Bignell took 3-53.
The visitor managed 6-121 (Jayaweera Bandara 32) in the second innings, leaving Port Fairy with the first innings win.
In other matches, Allansford (9-294) restricted West Warrnambool to 9-220 (Ben Dobson 67) on Saturday. Matt Brophy helped the Gators’ cause, snaffling 5-68.
Brierly Christ Church was bowled out for 154 (Nathan Murphy 58, Jake McKinnon 3-12), which was no match for Woodford’s previous total of 9-242.
The Eels returned to the crease and raced to 3-125 (John Houston 60, McKinnon 42) in the second innings.
Dennington’s solid knock of 7-216 was upstaged by Nestles, which embraced the challenge at Reid Oval.
The Factory opener Cameron Williams made 85, while Alex Pye contributed 51. Dennington’s Dustin Drew took 4-39.
