EAST Warrnambool YCW has ticked past the half-way mark of its Pink Stumps Day fund-raising target.
President Peter Baulch said yesterday that $5280 had been raised so far, with the club aiming to pledge $10,000 to the McGrath Foundation.
East Warrnambool’s fund-raising efforts will culminate on February 19, when it plays a division three match against Port Fairy.
Several East Warrnambool members will shave off their locks during afternoon tea at Jones Oval, which will host a family day, including a barbecue and jumping castle.
On February 18, Wesley CBC is hosting a Pink Stumps Day in its division four match against East at Allan Oval.
The club has organised fund-raising activities such as a barbecue, raffles and collection tins, with money to go to the McGrath Foundation.
Pink Stumps Day aims to raise funds to place McGrath breastcare nurses in communities across Australia and also aims to increase breast awareness in young women.
