Residents are advised not to rush out and lock in a service provider just yet as there is no confirmed date for the NBN roll-out in the south-west other than sometime in the next decade.
The NBN Co's Discovery Truck staff will be on hand to answer questions and demonstrate the equipment residents will eventually have in their homes.
General manager of demonstration facilities, Cassandra Hayes, said the visit was a chance for person-to-person discussions.
"It's been a very contentious issue with a lot of talk by politicians," she said.
"We receive thousands of emails and calls each week from individuals, businesses and local councils asking when the NBN is coming to their area and wanting to know how it works, what they can use it for, and how to get connected."
The Discovery Truck is a 23-tonne mobile interactive demonstration centre which opens up to showcase outdoor displays and contains high-definition video screens, cameras and audio equipment. It will be at the Civic Green, today and on Tuesday.
