Thieves burgle Portland hall

09 Feb, 2012 08:44 AM
PORTLAND police are seeking public assistance after thieves broke into the South Portland Hall overnight.

Detective Sergeant Steve Brown, of the Portland police Crime Investigation Unit, said the burglars forced a lock to gain entry to the Wellington Road hall.

When in the building they stole two CD players, a stereo system, an urn, electrical extension lead and fire extinguisher valued at $700.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Portland police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

There was also a burglary in Colac overnight when a bakery was broken into. South west police crime scene officers are expected to examine both crime scenes this morning.
