IF you think the mornings have been chilly lately, spare a thought for Maisy the moggie.A Cobden cat used up one of its nine lives on the weekend after spending almost 10 hours locked in a fridge. The animal, the pet of the town's fire brigade captain Bill Nelson, is alive and well with no permanent injuries.Mr Nelson was watching the cricket on Saturday night when the curious feline crept into the fridge."I had the whole family over and went out to the shed to get a few beers from the fridge," he said. "I didn't think that much of it until the next morning when we couldn't find the cat."His daughter Melanie, 13, searched for the beloved pet but could not find her anywhere.Mr Nelson thought he may have accidentally locked the cat in the shed, but when he searched the building there was no kitty to be found. Then he spied the fridge.Gingerly, Mr Nelson opened the fridge door, not knowing what to expect."But it was OK, it was just sitting there in the bottom and then it walked out," he said."It's one lucky cat, it might have been a week before I opened the fridge again."
