ONE good turn deserves another so it was no surprise to see Callignee Fire Brigade members out at Panmure yesterday helping farmers repair the damage caused by floods.

Cudgee brigade captain John Mahony explained a close relation was forged through the Black Saturday bushfires after the brigade went to Gippsland on the Sunday after the fires.
Mr Mahony was later involved in helping to co-ordinate the collection of $26,0000 in donations - including wire, hammers and staples - to assist with the rebuild efforts.
Those donations were split equally between Pomborneit, Callignee and Labertouche.
"When we were in Gippsland we formed some pretty close relationships with the Callignee boys and some of the others crews," he said.
"We've always kept in touch and the Monday night of the floods Greg Black was on the phone wanting to know what they could do to help and that night Callignee captain Ian Ewart was also offering to help out."
Mr Mahony said those offers of assistance resulted in about a dozen Callignee firefighters coming to the Panmure district at the weekend to help clean fence lines and repair fences.
"It's great the boys have hopped in to help out. Certainly the blokes they are helping out are very happy," he said.
"They bought some fencing materials with them and they're handing over a cheque. For us to be able to go down and help them out during the fires and for them to return the favour, it's what it's all about - helping each other out," he said.
