Man held over $10,000 cannabis haul

04 Jul, 2009 04:00 AM
A CAMPERDOWN man has been refused bail after police found almost one kilogram of cannabis hidden in his home.

Edo Petric, 55, of Shaw Street, yesterday applied for bail in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court.

Police raided his home earlier that day and charged him with trafficking, use and possession of cannabis.

A total of 930 grams, with a street value of about $10,000, were found in various dealer bags in his home.

In applying for bail, Mr Petric said he needed to care for his two intellectually disabled sons, aged 26 and 36.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Colac Magistrates Court on July 13. Mr Petric's defence indicated he would plead guilty to all charges.

"Other family arrangements have been made in relation to the care of his sons," Senior Constable Greg Kew said yesterday.
