PARKS Victoria have confirmed dangerous levels of Blue-green algae at Lake Bolac Lake Reserve with imposed health risks for people and livestock.

The common seasonal occurence of the algae is due to the warm weather, low water flows and nutrient levels.
Ranger in charge Karen Doyle asks that everybody be aware of the health risks connected to blue-green algae.
People must refrain from swimming and recreational activities, avoid consumption and contact with skin and eyes.
"Parks Victoria is committed to ensuring the safety of the community and visitors," Ms Doyle said.
Warning signs have been installed around the lake urging people to steer clear of the contaminated water.
"We understand the impact of this bloom on the local community will be significant, especially after enduring six years of a partially or fully dry lake," Ms Doyle said.
