PUTTING their twinkle toes and voices on show, these youngsters are set to dance the night away and maybe even teach their parents a thing or two.
Squeezing in one final practise, the children at Allansford and District Kindergarten will be putting their best foot forward tomorrow at their bushdance fund-raiser.
The family fun night was organised by the parents committee to raise money for the kindergarten's music program.
Committee president Sarah Irving said the program was important for the children's development.
"Singing, listening to music and learning about rhythm and pitch helps with language development and even assists with mathematical ability," she said.
"While of acknowledged educational value, a music program at kindergarten is not something that the government pays for."
Mrs Irving said this year the program would cost the kindergarten more than $1000.
The family fun night starts at 5pm with music from band Aniar.
Kindergarten teacher Mary Chenoweth said the children learnt a range of skills through music-based activities.
"Music covers all areas of children's development," she said.
"It's interactive and fun, they learn rhythm, beat and tone which can help with speaking.
"They learn to work together when they are learning a dance, they learn to co-operate and listen to instructions."
Mrs Chenoweth said during the year the children would be involved in a wide range of activities including playing instruments, dancing, singing and excursions.
Tickets are available from the kindergarten, Allansford Shop and Skinfit Body and Beauty on Timor Street.
