A SOUTH-WEST ice-cream maker believes he's created a tasty scoop of history.
Tim Marwood has put a twist on a yummy Anzac Day tradition.
South-west Victorians can now forget baking for April 25 and treat themselves to an ice-cream flavoured like one of Australia's most famous biscuits instead.
With golden syrup, rolled oats and coconut, Mr Marwood said he believed the new ice-cream flavour was the first of its kind made from the traditional Anzac biscuit recipe.
"As far as I know, no one has ever done anything like this before," he said.
"We've spent a couple of months perfecting the formula and come up with a really textured ice-cream that has a real Anzac biscuit flavour."
Mr Marwood said since the ice-cream had received approval to use the word 'Anzac' from the Minister of Veteran's Affairs last week, he had been busy filling orders.
"We were rapt when we got approval,'' he said.
The Anzac biscuit ice-cream is the first new addition to Timboon Fine Ice Cream's flavours in 12 months.
Already famous for its range of unusual but tasty flavours including lime and coconut, lemon pudding and orange and cardamom, Mr Marwood said he believed the Anzac biscuit flavour, available from tomorrow, would prove popular.
"We've already tested it out on some people during the developing stages, and we've got the thumbs up so far,'' he said.
"We always try to come up with new ideas for flavours that are different but still accessible to people.''
