CHANNEL Ten's new show The Circle is a "dream job" for TV personality and former Warrnambool girl Gorgi Coghlan.
"To be able to work with three down-to-earth, hilarious women ... I didn't think that would happen," she said.
"I had a pretty cruisey year last year ... and I was just hoping my dream job would come along."
The Circle premieres today at 10am and features TV legend Denise Drysdale, former Big Brother contestant and radio host Chrissie Swan, Channel V discovery Yumi Stynes and Coghlan - better known as Gorgi Quill before her October wedding.
"There's been a couple of brave moves from Channel Ten in putting this together and that's the reason why I jumped on this project," Coghlan said.
"They've been clever with the casting. Everyone's known Denise for so long - and most people think she's hilarious - but with Chrissie, Yumi and I, people don't know us, and that's a brave move. I think that will work for us.
''Certainly people can have a preconceived notion about (TV personalities), but I think people will think 'I've never heard of them, I'll give it a go'."
The cast and crew did two "dry runs" of the show in front of a studio audience on Thursday and Friday, and Coghlan is convinced they're on to a winner.
"We all looked at each other at the end of Friday (and we knew) it really clicked. Naturally people are going to compare us to The Catch-Up which failed on Channel 9 (in 2007) and The View ... but there's nothing like this on air for morning television.
"Main difference (between The Circle and The View) is the American versus Australian thing ... they're very over-the-top ... but our show is like having conversation with four Australian women, and it's a wonderful mix of women."
While Coghlan is best known for her work on The Today Show and Postcards, she's also a classically-trained singer and stage performer who appeared in We Will Rock You and sang at the prestigious Carols By Candlelight at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl.
"My mum (said) 'Surely you'll do a song with Yumi (who has a band) and Denise', but I said we'll let the dust settle for while," Coghlan laughed.
