 England gets another two months

England gets another two months

07 Sep, 2010 06:16 PM
INFAMOUS Portland identity Marcus England has received yet another criminal conviction after returning to court from prison.

The 22-year-old, formerly of Waterford Avenue, pleaded guilty to harassing a witness and was sentenced to two months' jail, to be served at the same time as his present term.

England appeared in the Geelong County Court in early August after appealing his conviction and sentence for charges of affray, recklessly causing serious injury and unlawful assault.

His original 21-month jail sentence was set aside, with judge Geoffrey Chettle instead ordering that he serve four months of a nine-month term.

The star footballer was handcuffed and wore a green prison tracksuit during his time in the Portland Magistrates Court yesterday, exchanging smiles with his girlfriend during proceedings.

It is about time the Portland Football Club sacked this convicted criminal. Ban him from playing and let him go. He is not a good for young players and other than bringing down the image (ha ha) of the club he brings the game the down. Onballer for barwon prison is the best position

With judgements like this why doesnt the Judge just give him parole, its the only reward that he hasnt been given. Whats the point of having a legal system when it hasnt got a spine.

Well said "A Mate" and its good to see "some of the legal" system is real. I have some doubts of the Portland system in place is it wifes in husbands pockets or husbands in wifes pockets ??

Great to see Marcus England has a 2 month extension to his prison sentence which means he will now be in prison over the christmas and new year period. I would have loved to see the coward in court handcuffed in his green prison tracksuit. What a pathetic man who continues to let down everyone around him!

Wayne why arent you a judge if you think you know so much. Maybe if you were the judge the right person would be punished. Played footy with enger for years. Top bloke and always welcome at our club.
