Dora explores a little bit of Warrnambool

12 Mar, 2010 04:00 AM
SHE'S travelled all around the world and yesterday the excitement was palpable when Dora the Explorer made a special trip to Warrnambool to meet some new friends.

Dora and her friend Meg van Ross stopped by the Honey Pot Child Care Centre to sing, dance and meet some of her youngest fans.

Eyes were wide and the children could barely sit still as their favourite adventurer stopped by.

The centre's joint-owner, Georgia Fleming, said staff and children alike were pleased to welcome Dora.

"The children were very excited," she said.

"(Dora) is definitely very popular with pre-school children, especially with the girls." Dora's friend Meg van Ross said she and Dora always enjoyed meeting new friends.

"It was wonderful, we had a fantastic time," she said.

Dora will bring all her friends, including Diego and Boots the monkey, when she returns to Warrnambool in May to perform her new live show.

Called Search for the City of Lost Toys, Dora and her friends use their musical, language, math and reasoning skills to navigate their way through the number pyramid and the mixed-up jungle as they try to find Dora's missing teddy bear, Osito.

Dora will sing, dance and solve the teddy mystery when she appears at the Warrnambool Entertainment Centre on Wednesday, May 5.
