Cyclist injured after collision with car

02 Dec, 2009 09:05 AM
A CYCLIST suffered superficial bruising after he was hit by a car at the intersection of Raglan Parade and Liebig Street this morning.

Acting Sergeant Greg Cressall, of Warrnambool police, said the cyclist in his 20s was heading east along Raglan Parade when he collided with the blue Holden Barina.

The car was travelling in the same direction as the cyclist before turning left into Liebig Street about 9.25am.

Doctors from a nearby medical clinic came out to treat the man before paramedics arrived on the scene.

The collision tore the side mirror from the car before the cyclist rolled over the bonnet and landed on the road.

Acting Sergeant Cressall said it appeared the driver in her 40s, who was clearly shaken, did not see the cyclist and failed to give way when turning.
