AFTER two years presenting their midnight to dawn show on Triple J, former Warrnambool comedians Tom Ballard and Alex Dyson are set to serve up weekend breakfast radio for listeners. The pair has been working regular overnight shifts since making the leap to the national broadcaster from their 3WAY FM show. Ballard caught Triple J's attention with his performance at the station's Raw Comedy event. The radio duo is set to take over from Sam Simmons on the station's weekend breakfast show, from 6am until 10am, in the new year. Ballard, 19, said he was still pinching himself."It's awesome and exciting but it's still really bizarre to think we're on Triple J,'' he said."For me, 3WAY was just a bit of fun and I'd never really thought about radio as a career but I love it and I think we've managed to be less crap over time which is also good."Dyson, 20, is studying in Melbourne and Ballard, who also writes a weekly online blog for The Standard, moved to the city earlier this year and has been keeping busy performing stand-up comedy and working on the radio show."The show's going to be fun,'' Ballard said."It's really just two weedy, awkward guys on the radio but hopefully we'll have some laughs and we'll definitely have some great music so it should be good.''Before they settle into their breakfast slot in January, Ballard and Dyson are presenting the station's summer weekday lunchtime show from 10am until 2pm.
