Colac police seek information on damage to nine cars

08 Feb, 2012 10:54 AM
COLAC police are calling for public assistance after nine cars were scratched in the city centre during recent days leaving a damage bill in the thousands of dollars.

Detective Senior Constable Stuart Sims, of the Colac police Crime Investigation Unit, said one vehicle had all its panels scratched and the bill for a complete paint respray could be up to $6000.

He said damage to other vehicles ranged up to about $1500 and the nine cars had been parked in an area which included Hearn Street and the city centre.

"Two male teenagers were seen in this area and we are appealing for members of the public who have any information to come forward and assist police. We request that people contact the Colac police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000," Detective Senior Constable Sims said.
