Ballot draw puts Purcell on top

JAMES Purcell has gained the number one position on the Wannon ballot for the August 21 federal election.

The independent candidate gained the top number on the ballot ahead of Ralph Leutton (independent) in second place, Daniel Tehan (Liberal) at third spot.

The draw was conducted in Warrnambool at midday by the Australian Electoral Commission.

Greens candidate Mike Lawrence gained top spot on the Corangamite ticket followed by Liberal candidate Sarah Henderson and Labor's Darren Cheeseman.
