Lucky escape after Port Fairy head-on

14 Mar, 2010 01:45 PM
TWO local drivers were lucky to survive a horror weekend smash that destroyed their vehicles and horrified onlookers.

The young pair collided head-on near the Port Fairy Golf Club, about 1.30pm on Saturday.

One of the drivers is 20-year-old John Hulin, son of Warrnambool City Councillor Peter Hulin.

He was taken to South West Healthcare in Warrnambool and is undergoing surgery on his leg today after suffering multiple fractures.

The other driver was believed to be a young Port Fairy woman who received back injuries and a possible broken arm.
