YOU'LL break more than a few bones in this futuristic shooter from LucasArts.
The game is set in 2161 when disasters have caused chaos in North America leading to the speration of the US into two sides - the Pacific and the Atlantic.
You take on the role of Atlantic soldier Jet Brody, who is in charge of getting the Pacific force under control.
The key difference between this and other shooters is your ability to deform terrain using a range of weapons.
Fracture has copped a fair blast from critics across the globe, but anyone who loves games that look like Halo, Too Human or Gears Of War will no doubt enjoy immersing themselves into its world.
So too will anyone who loves to take control of big guys in big suits with big weapons.
The weapons are awesome, but the killing spree and terrain deformation is let down by an onslaught of repeptitiveness.
The game looks cool, but dodgy frame rates and some serious pixelation in the cut scenes are cause for concern for a game that's made for this generation of consoles.
While the single-player game doesn't live up to expectations, the online mulitplayer mode kicks arse. Up to 12 players can go to town on eight maps in eight game types including flag capture, king maker and death matches. Excavation (where you work the terrain deformer to the max) is the most fun.
It's not the best release of the year but it's enough to keep most third-person shooter fans plugging away until they get their hands on Call Of Duty: World At War or Gears Of War II. - SHERELE MOODY
