Pnau - Pnau

YOU might have come across Pnau's catchy dance creations on the radio or your local dancefloor, but there's a few more gems on their self-titled album that haven't yet made it onto most playlists.

This limited Australian tour edition 2-CD set is the third album from the Sydney-based duo of Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayes.

The bonus disc features some refreshingly down-tempo remixes.

The album starts on a high as With You Forever's shimmy-worthy bass-line threatens to bring on a bout of Saturday Night Fever.

Wild Strawberries is a fun song but for many, this fruit may well have soured by now after its comprehensive radio play. But there's more in store as Shock to My System builds into a kind of fury-laced pop hymn.

And then there's Baby, which could get annoying one day but for now, hey it's fun.

The loveable Kid's Choir really make this mischievous tribute to young love and it should at least get you tapping the car steering wheel if not joining the kids in their infectious chant: "eh-oh-eh-oh-eh".

The album has clearly been pieced together to carry you through a fun night with your mates and that's why the 80s-drenched Come Together is such a welcome follow-up to Baby, with another appearance by The Kid's Choir to boot.

But like most dance albums, things get progressively grimier, with Lover exhibiting a bit of old school techno before unleashing the vehement protest, No More Violence.

Just when the techno-phobes thought it was time to pack up their dance moves and go home, along comes the rousing girl-pop anthem Embrace - the record's longest track at 5:30.

Things settle down from there, as if the Sydney outfit grants the listeners a gentle warm-down after a heady boogie. Pnau is fun, diverse and should make you move.

FAVOURITE TRACK: With You Forever makes me want to hop in the 1970s convertible I haven't bought yet.
